Someone even told me the reason why I was having trouble is because Iâm technologically inept and perhaps even stupid. A few of the comments and messages that I received suggested that it was user error. It could be that they are using only one camera (and not multiple) and/or they donât have Bluetooth models, but thatâs just a guess. A small number seem to have no issues with the app at all. While most of the comments to my Reel were in agreement, there were some who reported a different experience. It could be other problems, too, that Iâm just not aware of. So using the app for multiple cameras, and especially if one or more of those cameras have Bluetooth, is where it went wrong for me. Also, the app didnât seem to like when I connected to one camera and then tried to connect to another camera right afterwards. ![]() In my experience, the Bluetooth feature is sometimes the cause of the hangup. What changed? I think two things: Bluetooth and multiple bodies. Years ago I would receive reports from people stating that the app sucks, but I didnât share those experiences however, the problems began to show up after I purchased my Fujifilm X-T30. I havenât always had trouble with Fujifilmâs Cam Remote app. When I canât get the app to work, itâs a significant issue for me. 99% of the time that is the full extent of my photographic workflow. I shoot with Film Simulation Recipes, then transfer the JPEGs off my camera and to my phone using the Cam Remote app, straighten and/or crop if necessary, and then upload to cloud storage. Itâs really unfortunate that I cannot get the app to work sometimes-and when I can it is often a frustrating experience-because it is an important part of my workflow. There have been times that, despite my best efforts, I just couldnât get it to work, and I gave up trying to connect the camera to the app. It often takes several tries before it will work, if it does at all. By far, the biggest issue is getting the camera to even connect to the app. Most of the comments were in agreement: the Cam Remote App is frustrating, and doesnât seem to work well. Between all of the social media accounts where I posted the short video, I had over 3,000 reactions (hearts, thumbs up, etc., etc.) and about 350 comments, which is a lot more than usual. PS There might be errors in my explanation above.I posted a comical Reel on my Instagram account about the much maligned Fujifilm Cam Remote App, and it clearly struck a nerve. I normally long-push the Fn-button as the first thing when coming home and let the camera transfer all photos to my PC asap. I have this in the same top FnButton (long click)įor this you have to let the camera know the password of your home wifi and install the PC app etc. It would be nice feature also to delete photos from the camera but not. above but you use the phone interface and can see the thumbnails or almost full screen image of all camera photos in the phone and you can select which to import. Select the photo from the Camera and press Transmit (OK) in the camera. The Phone contacts the Camera using Bluetooth: "Let's transfer one photo from camera". perhaps to transfer every photo drains batteryĬlick Single image transfer in the phone app. ![]() In the camera menu you can select this feature to be automatic transfer tag for each photo and you don't have to select photos manually. It is not visible when the transfer is completed because the camera looks off and in the phone only a short notification. And the photos will be in the phone "seamless transfer". The app even turns the Wifi ON if it was OFF in the phone if it is off or in the flight mode. The Camera contacts the phone using Bluetooth: "Let's transfer some photos from camera". ![]() The camera looks like going to OFF-state but it is going to transfer the photos first. Select/tag photos in the camera for Image transfer order I have topFnButton for this: (short click) to start Image transfer order tagging You don't have to do more in the phone side. Start the remote app and let it run in the background in the phone. Auto Save images to PC using local home Wifi (no Bluetooth needed) "one click"Ä¡-3 use Bluetooth and direct addhoc Phone-camera-wifiĪll above 1-4 do not work in older cameras. Import image, to select photos in the phone app.Ĥ. Single image transfer, if you prefer working with the camera interfaceÄ£. Image transfer order also for automatic transferÄ¢. There are 3 ways to transfer images from the camera to the phone (as explained in the manual):Ä¡. (Also time sync and GPS coordinates use only Bluetooth) The remote release button is using only Bluetooth others need both Bluetooth (for negotiations) & Wifi (for image file transfer) I have android phone Samsung S7 and my camera is XF10.
